Latest about the wedding so far...
When Mon and I decided to get married soon, I did my best to let him visit Caleruega. I have never been there but has seen the pictures of THE CHURCH, from magazines. I never really expected him to like it. But, surprise surprise, we totally loved the Church. That was when we decided that ours would be a destination wedding. It would be our gift to our family and friends to have them enjoy a wedding weekend with us.
However, I am always fidgety about our Church, coz when Mon and I visited the Church for the second time, the ideal dates in January 2006 that we wanted were taken already. I was really dissapointed... but h2b was not. There was also the issue of the reception venue... where? where? where?
I would have loved the site of Leslie's Tagaytay, but I was afraid that though the food might be good, the decorations would not. It would be really great to have our reception with Taal Volcano in the background. Other venues were either in-house catered, too small, or too far.
When my brother and I got to visit Pacific Heights, i loved it. But, again, my impression was that it was too far and furthermore from the accomodations. But, my brother loved it and they had a kitchen for outside caterers. It was also the same price as a Caleruega reception venue at 30,000php.
A few days before the Saturday that Mon and I were supposed to visit Pacific Heights, a sales assistant from Juan Carlo the Caterer texted me. Hmmm... isn't there a venue in Tagaytay that is exclusive JCC? I decided to inquire. That Saturday, we instead did an ocular at Colossian Gardens, the said venue.
Mon loved it. It was a garden venue. Open air- but there is an option for a covered reception if you want one. We would have an open-air. We were immediately scheduled for food tasting at Fernwood the next day.
Why we love it?
Price: It comes very cheap at P10,000 for five hours and we have the whole place to ourselves.
Venue: Although it comes as very raw at this stage, JCC is developing the area to accomodate the very special needs of Brides. The place was also going to be spruced up. Knowing JCC as a Fernwood accredited caterer, my faith in them is quite strong. I know they would be able to fix the place. Although, as I've said it was already good enough for us as it was.
Service: At this stage of the arrangements with JCC, service is already quite impressive. Sir Alex, personally entertained us at the venue explaining to us the changes that he is planning for the place. He even invited us to come on April 09, on their first wedding at the place so we could see how the place was spruced up.
Apprehensions: My apprehension however, is that some amenities might come with extra charge as compared to VS&F which I had originally thought of booking. I am just praying that whatever some of our extra needs cost, it would still be within our budget.
We still have no date! That is still my biggest problem. Mon is still waiting for the results of the Bar Exams. That will eventually spell out my fate as a Bride. Oh well... I'll just have to keep you posted on that one.
So far... we know that...
The Church is Caleruega. Reception Venue is Colossian Gardens. Caterer is Juan Carlo the Caterer. The Theme is going to be Formal. It will be a destination wedding covering three days and 2 nights, with our wedding as the highlight of the 2nd night.
I'm praying... things go well... ciao!
